We believe online collaboration security should be a superhero shield, not handcuffs.

At Wiretap, we love collaboration — and today’s social collaboration and messaging tools make it easier than ever to work together — across the hallway, across departments, or around the world. Tools like Microsoft Yammer, Slack and Workplace by Facebook help speed innovation, increase employee engagement and reduce meetings by 25%. In today’s busy workplace, who needs more meetings?

Our mission is simple: To close the security gap while making ESN adoption wildly successful.

Wiretap started with a basic premise — to build a solution that was meant to provide a layer of security for collaboration tools so companies can properly steward their most valuable assets — including safeguarding intellectual property and customer data, protecting employees from harassment, ensuring HR policies are adhered to, and empowering companies to follow detailed industry compliance regulations.

We did just that, but it doesn’t end there.

Wiretap also provides a unique level of visibility into organizational sentiment so issues can be addressed immediately and positive collaboration can be encouraged — companies can gain exponential value from their collaboration tools without worry.

Protecting the enterprise.

Encouraging Positive Collaboration.

Providing Unmatched Visibility.

That’s Wiretap.

Meet the Team

Enterprise Collaboration Security is always evolving, and no two businesses challenges look exactly alike. That’s why Wiretap’s executive team blends extensive experience and a discerning eye toward the future.

These bold visionaries and eager collaborators are smart, seasoned, and highly capable — tirelessly striving to improve how employees work together.

Jeff Schumann

CEO & Co-Founder

Jeff is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Wiretap. Extremely forward thinking and often labeled a visionary, Jeff will find a solution even if he must create it.

Before graduating from high school, Jeff had already built and launched his first software company: a video platform that grew to more than 100,000 customers. He found additional early success leading his next venture, an online service that monitored and tracked Al-Qaeda communications on the internet.

Over time, Jeff created more software companies, honing his passion for engineering products and creating new ways to enable value for others along the way. Prior to Wiretap, Jeff was most recently responsible for leading all enterprise collaboration at Nationwide Insurance, where he was accountable for implementing or creating technology that enhanced productivity across a workforce of 35,000 employees. His work has been recognized by Forbes, CIO Magazine, Fortune, the Harvard Business Review, Gartner and the Wall Street Journal.

Although Jeff's rising stardom led to a number of job offers, he instead decided to co-found and lead Wiretap, where he and his team can leverage visionary thinking and product management experience to create the next Columbus-based tech unicorn.

Jeff holds a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from The Ohio State University’s Max M. Fisher College of Business.
